In 1927, the Fullerton Municipal Airport was created on land that had once been a sewer farm. As general aviation became more popular in Southern California, the airport became a major destination and was the site of the first air traffic control tower in Orange County. Today, the airport is the only general aviation airfield still open in California, making it a truly important place for those who love aviation history. The Welcome To Fullerton Vintage Metal Sign pays tribute to the early days of the airfield with its postcard type design baked onto 24 gauge US steel. At the top of the sign are the words "Welcome to Fullerton Airport Orange County's Home for General Aviation."
