The company went on to great success in the decades that followed, and filling stations that bore the company name remained in operation until 1971. The Retro American Oil Co Metal Sign is a reminder of the legacy built by the company, the assets of which are now a part of the Amoco corporation. The sign features the classic American Oil Company shield and wing logo at the top along with writing inspired by genuine American Oil Company advertising signs.
