The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad runs for 45.2 miles across Colorado, traveling through the Rocky Mountains to connect the cities of Durango and Silverton. The railroad opened in 1881 and continues to be a popular route for tourists to travel to enjoy picturesque views of the mountains. The Railfan Metal Sign takes a look back at the history of the railroad with a reproduction of an advertising sign. In the design, a beautiful woman clutching a fan crouches behind a locomotive beneath the word "Railfan!" The name of the railroad appears below, and the beautiful mountains can be seen behind her.
Constructed out of thick American-made steel in the U.S., the Railfan Metal Sign is durable and has a wear-and-tear resistant sublimated finish that can outlast painted metal signs. The 12-inch by 18-inch sign weighs 2 pounds and is easy to hang with its riveted holes in each corner. For that classic vintage look, the corners have been distressed by hand.
