Last Measure of Devotion Vintage Metal Sign
In the Gettysburg Address, Abraham Lincoln spoke about the soldiers who had fallen on the battlefield saying that they had shown "the last full measure of devotion" by dying for the cause of the war. The Brothers Hildebrandt have been inspired by this famous phrase and have created a 9/11 tribute painting drawing on those powerful words. The Last Measure of Devotion Metal Sign features this painting, which shows a New York City firefighter raising an American flag at Ground Zero in honor of his fallen brothers. In the background, the twin towers are shown as if in spirit form bathed in heavenly light. The image is rendered in very realistic detail with rich pigments that are baked onto the American steel sign.
The Last Measure of Devotion Metal Sign is manufactured in America entirely by hand. The sign measures 12 inches in width by 18 inches in height and weighs roughly 2 pounds. The corners of the sign have been vintaged and drilled and riveted by the manufacturer.
