From the Barber Shop and Shoe Shine Memories licensed collection, this sign measures 15 inches by 12 inches and weighs in at 2 lb(s). W. Berry’s Diamond Blacking (William Berry Ltd of Manchester). Blacking was the workhorse of everyday products “Save my leather!.” Everything made of leather had to be make waterproof and kept soft & supple because it was expensive to renew. Berry’s Blacking was established in 1848 & later grouped under the Chiswick Polish Company with other polish manufactures about 1907. Rare paper label for wooden counter top display box. About 1870’s as it shows London’s bootblack brigade boys & Punch trademark. Metal sign compliments original art. This Plasma is hand made in the USA using heavy gauge American steel.
