In 1869, the J.B. Dobbins Company began circulating lithographs throughout American cities in order to advertise their newest product, a bathroom bar soap that was medicated to help fight infections. This beautiful, full-color lithograph has been preserved for over 125 years and now has been recreated in the design of the Retro Dobbins Medicated Soap Metal Sign. The sign shows four ladies in mid 19th-century dress gathered in a parlor, examining a piece of sheet music with the product name printed on it. The name of the product appears in ornate lettering above and below the central image.
The Retro Dobbins Medicated Soap Metal Sign is a lovely wall decoration for a bathroom and measures 24 inches by 36 inches in size. Made in the USA, the sign features a thick 24 gauge US steel base to which the advertising image has been sealed with heat. The 10-pound metal sign has drilled and riveted corners and has been distressed to give it an aged look.
