It is protected by a clear, optical grade Lexan lens. Lighting up this 14-inch by 14-inch back-lit clock is an LED light source that can be found resting inside of a black ABS plastic casing on the back of the clock. The LED lights up when you give it power from any standard 110-volt power outlet. A reliable quartz movement keeps the time by way of a single AA battery.
