Retro Destination Tokyo Metal Sign 36 x 24 Inches
On April 18, 1942, one of the most daring operations of World War II was launched. A group of skilled pilots went on a secret mission to attack military and industrial targets in Tokyo. Although the mission was successful, the pilots later encountered trouble and were either captured or killed in action. Today, those pilots are remembered as heroes and saluted in the design of the Retro Destination Tokyo Metal Sign. This durable 24 gauge US steel sign features the tribute painting created by Stan Stokes, and the details of the artwork are baked onto the metal to preserve the image in the powder coating of the steel. The name of the painting appears in the bottom right corner as well as the artist's hallmark.
The Retro Destination Tokyo Metal Sign is 36 inches wide by 24 inches high and weighs 10 pounds. The sign is manufactured out of American steel in the USA. Each corner of the sign is drilled and then finished with a metal rivet to ensure that it is easy to hang.
