Resting atop the clock face is a clear, optical grade Lexan lens that prohibits both yellowing of the clock as well as scratches and nicks. Featured on the back of the clock is a black ABS plastic case that houses an LED light source. Plug the clock into a standard 110-volt power outlet to illuminate the clock face. All you have to do to get the clock's quartz movement ticking is install a single AA battery into the clock.
